Operations & Maintenance Facility

Part of Randall’s Island Redevelopment, the project sits below the RFK/Triborough Bridge viaduct and utilizes left over space. This facility is for both the field crews for Randall’s Island Park and the Manhattan Department of Forestry and Horticulture. Taking advantage of the grade change, the building weaves itself into the landscape to reduce the bulk of a 2-story structure. Under its green roofs are working and administration areas, connected by a continuous atrium covered in glass that shifts and ends up over a greenhouse.
