A competition entry for the memorial for the heroes and victims of Flight 93 during 9/11, the design treats the entire site as a memorial. After entering the northeast corner of the site, visitors pass through rows of red and white wildflowers. At the end of the meadows, the Visitor Information Center relates to the adjoining existing hill. Farther into the site, views of 150’ tall metal towers emerges from behind the ridge. These 40 truss towers representing the flight members are visible from all points in the valley. The towers are arranged to form a star, visible from the air.
