CONSTRUCTION COST :
132,000 SF covered tennis courts / 5,900 SF clubhouse
Improving the existing tennis complex in Central Park, the project provides seasonal enclosure for the reorganized tennis courts, and a temporary clubhouse. The 2-story structure is placed between the clusters of courts. Shipping container modules quickly connect to the frame, each one designed for a particular program (shower, stairs, viewing, etc.). Green technology reduces water usage and energy needed for heating and lighting in the clubhouse. The bubbles are opaque and insulated for heat retention, but translucent at the bottom for natural light.
