Randall's Island Comfort Stations
The improvements to the park include designing critically needed comfort stations. These small buildings are sculptural, bright orange-red monolithic objects and thus, instantly identifiable from great distances.
With their bold design, the small buildings act as visual cues communicating to visitors that the various areas of the park are in fact part of an interconnected whole.
In contrast to the exterior, the interior is soothingly muted in color.
The three buildings, built to the same design, provide public toilets, an information/concession booth and storage.
